What is a Red Herring Treasure Hunt?

A Red Herring Treasure Hunt is a fully managed, smartphone-based outdoor team building activity available across 18+ UK cities. Teams use a custom app to navigate a pre-set city route, completing a mix of trivia challenges, logic puzzles, and creative photo and video tasks at GPS-triggered locations. Events are hosted remotely via video call or in person for larger groups, and run for 1.5 to 2.5 hours including briefing. A live leaderboard keeps teams competitive throughout. Red Herring events are designed for corporate groups of 10 to 200+ people and require no specialist equipment beyond a smartphone.

Your chosen game zone is packed with a hundred different challenges, waiting to be unlocked. Only when you physically arrive at a challenge on the map will you be able to complete them.

The red fish icons on the map represent fun, fast paced trivia, the blue icons are brain boggling puzzles and creative photo/video tasks.

Make sure to plan your route strategically and collect as many points as possible for the chance to take home the crown!

This feature is your chance to communicate with your opposing teams. Banter with the other teams, wind up your boss, but most importantly, keep in touch with your event manager.

All of our events include an events manager to run your event for you via a video briefing.

Where’s the fun without a little competitive spirit? A live leaderboard will keep your teams engaged and focused on the big win until the very end of the event.

This feature is turned off in the final moments to keep the momentum high and the winners a surprise!

Relax and let us handle everything! Your event will be fully hosted from beginning to end. We provide remote event managers who will run your event via a video call or you can upgrade to an onsite event manager who will meet you at your chosen location for a briefing.
